A new home for AVENUE

April 4th was a date to celebrate for everybody at AVENUE as it marked the day of the opening of AVENUE's new sim.  AVENUE is now located in a self named sim at GOL, the group of sims stemming from the visionary creativity of GOL founder, Dakota Neumann.

The sim was created and designed by Dakota in partnership with AVENUE's founder & CEO Rusch Raymaker, a perfect combination of fashion, lifestyle and entertainment.

The opening of the AVENUE sim is another milestone for this energetic company, and certainly Rusch Raymaker and her team won't fail to deliver once again what they promise, always with the utmost professionalism and far-sightedness.

AVENUE sim features the presence of several of the most celebrated fashion designers in SL - Baiastice, Chantkare, CheerNo, LeeZu!, Lelutka, LG Concept, Nicky Ree and Stylissimo all located in the central part of the sim called Couture AVENUE, set in an elegant, modern and yet tropical surrounding.  In a separate building is located AVENUE's main quarter with its stylish and modern offices, set perfectly in harmony with the rest of the sim.

The opening of AVENUE sim at Gol last night was inaugurated with a grand fashion show showcasing the biggest names of SL Couture, Baiastice, Chantkare, CheerNo, LeeZu, Lelutka, LG Concept, Nicky Ree and Stylissimo.  Over 70 people fought lag to attend this impressiVE show held at AVENUE's brand new runway.

The fashion show was then followed by a "wandering" party that was held first at AVENUE's The A Lounge then it was moved to the neighbouring Sim of Gol 5 where GOLden Shopping mall is located.

The party was kept fun and entertaining thanks to the tunes played by GOL's own DJ Captain Clipper and once again fashionistas, designers and many curious avatars had the chance to dance and socialize on a day that will be remembered for a long time.

Visit AVENUE at GOL if you haven't already to pick up the lovely exclusives from Couture AVENUE designers and join AVENUE Magazine Readers group for future exclusives and free gifts from these amazing couture designers.

AVENUE hosts Smooth Designs Fashion Show

AVENUE Models hosted another stellar performance showcasing the designs of Aeris Shenlin, owner of Smooth Designs. Specializing in role-play costumes, the styles on display were truly out of this world.

With beautiful prim work and incredibly detailed textures, the designs ranged from genuine Aztec dancers to regal Baroque gowns to the frosty allure of the legendary Snow Queen. The Aztec dancers were a favorite for the fabulous feathered headdresses shown in male and female versions. The exquisite gold work done for the chest plate, arm, wrist and particularly the leg cuffs was immaculate.

Known as the stop for pirates in Second Life, Aeris does not let her creativity stop there. Alien avatars in vibrant reds and blues as well as the elements with Fire, Rainbow and Dark being featured with flowing tentacles that surrounded the models with mystery.

The true stunner for me had to be the Yul Brenner costume from the famous film "The King and I". The layered prims of the sarong and jacket combined with vivid reds truly set the outfit apart from your standard SL costumes.

You can find a more detailed review of this amazing show in our next issue of AVENUE magazine.

The show ran smoothly, highlighted by the background music carefully chosen by host Rusch Raymaker, which gave an extra sexy flavour to the event.

Champagne Sparkling Fashion’s clothes are feminine, sexy and stylish, enriched by precious details like scarves, jewels, belts and fringes.

Nothing is left out, there’s the lacy babydoll, the radiant red evening dresses, the little dress with the short skirt, but everything has the same keynote, femininity in pure French style.

Champagne Sparkling Fashion is also menswear, always classy, always stylish but with a twist, from the sequined tuxedo to a rich velvet suit perfect for a nobleman, there’s plenty to choose from.

AVENUE Magazine - Popi by Eshi Otawara

POPI designed by Eshi Otawara

POPI - A symbol of rememberance, you will never be forgotten in this dress.

AVENUE Inc. takes great pleasure to introduce another captivating creation from the design house of Eshi Otawara. Simply titled POPI, Eshi explained that her reason for naming the dress POPI instead of the English spelling of the flower poppy was that Japanese people say it this way. Eshi's homage to Japanese style is seen in her Spring/Winter collection where she has incorporated symbols from Japan into her designs creating a harmonious fusion of fashion and art.

Eshi's POPI dress is reminiscent of the Oriental Poppy with it's splendid array of salmon, pink, red, scarlet orange, deep maroon and white colors. Bee's are highly attracted to the poppy flower and never surprised at Eshi's attention to detail, included in the dress is a stunning bee ring to remind one of their place in natures cycle when wearing this creation.

As with all Eshi's designs, they transcend from her minds eye into the Metaverse as supurbly constructed pieces that fit like a jig saw puzzle and even in movement, everything remains as it should. There is no doubt that Eshi has mastered the mechanics of clothing construction for the avatar which surely means that you will never be disappointed with your purchase.

The bold poppy hat featuring an amazing veil of white netting that softens the face and creates a certain mystery is the jewel in the crown. One can only imagine what the meaning behind the needle like adornments is and I am almost too scared to ask, such is my enjoyment of making my own interpretations of Eshi's work.

In closing, POPI is impeccably constructed and is a credit to Eshi's talents. As an aside, whilst searching locations to shoot the dress, in the space of 20 minutes three people unknown to me messaged in IM to say 'WOW, I love that dress'. That says it all right there.

Written and styled by AVENUE Model, Chalice Carling.

La Dolce Vita

It was a night of the sweet life, with AVENUE models showcasing SL's top Italian designers at 'La Dolce Vita' held at the First Meta II sim.

The elegant circular stage design surrounding an unusually beautiful leafless tree and sprinkled with umbrellas, set the tone for the innovative choreography as the models took their turns on the catwalk.

The 60's inspiration was quite apparent in many of the styles worn. The creations of Addoro Design, Alatiel Fashions, Anubis Style, Bolero Collection, DD Style, Diorsis Hair Design, Jador Fashion, Lady Thera and Preciosity of Style ebbed and flowed before our eyes.

Though the lag did try to rear its ugly head and would have succeeded were it not for the clever EmmZ Tzara and Kryptonia Paperdoll who led everyone in a rousing game of losing our attachments for 100L!

As the attachments fell and bald heads and toes were revealed, the lag settled and we were treated to several showings of the SPIRIT Dazzlers, their dances coordinated perfectly with the models own.
