A new home for AVENUE

April 4th was a date to celebrate for everybody at AVENUE as it marked the day of the opening of AVENUE's new sim.  AVENUE is now located in a self named sim at GOL, the group of sims stemming from the visionary creativity of GOL founder, Dakota Neumann.

The sim was created and designed by Dakota in partnership with AVENUE's founder & CEO Rusch Raymaker, a perfect combination of fashion, lifestyle and entertainment.

The opening of the AVENUE sim is another milestone for this energetic company, and certainly Rusch Raymaker and her team won't fail to deliver once again what they promise, always with the utmost professionalism and far-sightedness.

AVENUE sim features the presence of several of the most celebrated fashion designers in SL - Baiastice, Chantkare, CheerNo, LeeZu!, Lelutka, LG Concept, Nicky Ree and Stylissimo all located in the central part of the sim called Couture AVENUE, set in an elegant, modern and yet tropical surrounding.  In a separate building is located AVENUE's main quarter with its stylish and modern offices, set perfectly in harmony with the rest of the sim.

The opening of AVENUE sim at Gol last night was inaugurated with a grand fashion show showcasing the biggest names of SL Couture, Baiastice, Chantkare, CheerNo, LeeZu, Lelutka, LG Concept, Nicky Ree and Stylissimo.  Over 70 people fought lag to attend this impressiVE show held at AVENUE's brand new runway.

The fashion show was then followed by a "wandering" party that was held first at AVENUE's The A Lounge then it was moved to the neighbouring Sim of Gol 5 where GOLden Shopping mall is located.

The party was kept fun and entertaining thanks to the tunes played by GOL's own DJ Captain Clipper and once again fashionistas, designers and many curious avatars had the chance to dance and socialize on a day that will be remembered for a long time.

Visit AVENUE at GOL if you haven't already to pick up the lovely exclusives from Couture AVENUE designers and join AVENUE Magazine Readers group for future exclusives and free gifts from these amazing couture designers.

AND NOW...THE BUNNIES!

HunnyBunny_001.jpg

The year 2010 in Second Life® (SL) started out with the launch of the first Artificial Intelligent (AI) bunny, right after the invasion of chickens, turtles and other breeder animals. Yesterday, 2nd of January, the HunnyBunny brand released their intelligent easter bunnies at the Bunnie’s sim, in a venue built and hosted by AVENUE.

HunnyBunny_027.jpg

The HunnyBunny was created by Hunny Larimore, Bunny Tremor and Ina Centaur, who together, gave life to those cute creatures willing to “create a childhood fantasy for everyone”, explains Hunny.

The product can be a big success and less a problem to property owners, according to Ozzie Drucker, the sim owner and owner of The Farm, because “it has virtually no collisions, and is well scripted with hardly any impact”, he says. The party went from 12PM to 3PM SLT and started with AVENUE´s founder Rusch Raymaker spinning some house tunes and dropping hunt clues for the easter egg’s hunt. The launching event was also live painted by Filthy Fluno, in oil on canvas named BunnyPainty Mixed Reality Painting, becoming his first 2010 live art.

Cosmic Vision

Cosmic Vision by Shakti Cianci
A Stretch Mayo & Moon Temple Productions Film

This music video features Shakti from the band SpaceJunky at the piano. It is from her solo piano meditation CD called "7 Tears Of Tara" by Crystal Gypsy and features a cameo by Avenue CEO Rusch Raymaker, Solange Cerveau of Solange Fashions as well as other AlphaCrew members.

The CD was inspired by a spiritual journey to Tibet in RL. Whilst there Shakti visted the cave of Tara, the goddess of Compassion and Healing. While in the cave she saw something glisten on the roof of the cave. Thinking it might be crystal she reached up to touch it. To her surprise it was a single drop of water...a tear of Tara. She touched it to her third eye as the monk said a prayer in Tibetan.

When she returned home the CD was born, the "7 Tears of Tara", being the 7 chakras of the body which correspond to 7 specific frequencies. Shakti does energy healing work in RL, and has studied various forms of energy healing including ancient Tibetan healing techniques which predate Reiki, and she uses this music in her healing work. Cosmic Vision is the piece for the 3rd eye chakra, and she hopes that this piece will bring you calmness and peace as you open to your intuition and own personal truth.

AVENUE Magazine - Popi by Eshi Otawara

POPI designed by Eshi Otawara

POPI - A symbol of rememberance, you will never be forgotten in this dress.

AVENUE Inc. takes great pleasure to introduce another captivating creation from the design house of Eshi Otawara. Simply titled POPI, Eshi explained that her reason for naming the dress POPI instead of the English spelling of the flower poppy was that Japanese people say it this way. Eshi's homage to Japanese style is seen in her Spring/Winter collection where she has incorporated symbols from Japan into her designs creating a harmonious fusion of fashion and art.

Eshi's POPI dress is reminiscent of the Oriental Poppy with it's splendid array of salmon, pink, red, scarlet orange, deep maroon and white colors. Bee's are highly attracted to the poppy flower and never surprised at Eshi's attention to detail, included in the dress is a stunning bee ring to remind one of their place in natures cycle when wearing this creation.

As with all Eshi's designs, they transcend from her minds eye into the Metaverse as supurbly constructed pieces that fit like a jig saw puzzle and even in movement, everything remains as it should. There is no doubt that Eshi has mastered the mechanics of clothing construction for the avatar which surely means that you will never be disappointed with your purchase.

The bold poppy hat featuring an amazing veil of white netting that softens the face and creates a certain mystery is the jewel in the crown. One can only imagine what the meaning behind the needle like adornments is and I am almost too scared to ask, such is my enjoyment of making my own interpretations of Eshi's work.

In closing, POPI is impeccably constructed and is a credit to Eshi's talents. As an aside, whilst searching locations to shoot the dress, in the space of 20 minutes three people unknown to me messaged in IM to say 'WOW, I love that dress'. That says it all right there.

Written and styled by AVENUE Model, Chalice Carling.

La Dolce Vita

It was a night of the sweet life, with AVENUE models showcasing SL's top Italian designers at 'La Dolce Vita' held at the First Meta II sim.

The elegant circular stage design surrounding an unusually beautiful leafless tree and sprinkled with umbrellas, set the tone for the innovative choreography as the models took their turns on the catwalk.

The 60's inspiration was quite apparent in many of the styles worn. The creations of Addoro Design, Alatiel Fashions, Anubis Style, Bolero Collection, DD Style, Diorsis Hair Design, Jador Fashion, Lady Thera and Preciosity of Style ebbed and flowed before our eyes.

Though the lag did try to rear its ugly head and would have succeeded were it not for the clever EmmZ Tzara and Kryptonia Paperdoll who led everyone in a rousing game of losing our attachments for 100L!

As the attachments fell and bald heads and toes were revealed, the lag settled and we were treated to several showings of the SPIRIT Dazzlers, their dances coordinated perfectly with the models own.

LA DOLCE VITA - An Italian Fashion Spectacular

AVENUE Models presents LA DOLCE VITA to the runway. A compilation of SL's finest Italian designers, both veterans and new, get together on one stage to showcase their latest collections.

La Dolce Vita, Italian for 'The Sweet Life', was hailed as the most widely seen and acclaimed European film of the 1960's, directed by Federico Fellini. Few realize that Fellini's initial inspiration for the movie was a dress created by designer Cristóbal Balenciaga. Balenciaga was an innovator in his use of fabrics, is noted for contributions to the fashion industry such as the tunic dress and high-waisted baby doll dress, and his sculptural creations were considered masterworks of haute couture in the 1950's and 1960's. La Dolce Vita, reminiscent of Balenciaga's trendsetting creations, depicts the lives of Roman celebrities in the early 60's. Fellini filled the screen with vibrant colors and elegant motions giving one a feeling of sweet dreaminess.

Please join AVENUE Models as they showcase LA DOLCE VITA filling your screen with the same elegance and vibrance of SL's finest Italian collections from Addoro Design, Alatiel Fashions, Anubis Style, Bolero Collection, DD Style, Diorsis Hair Design, Jador Fashion, Lady Thera, and Preciosity of Style. This stellar fashion presentation, conceptualized by director Rusch Raymaker, AVENUE CEO, and managed by AVENUE Designer Liaison Livia Mastroianni, will be given an avant garde treatment in choreography and set design in collaboration with dance choreographer Pyper Dollinger and special appearance by the entertaining and graceful SPIRIT Dazzlers.

When: 8 March 2009 - 1pm SLT

I WANNA BE A CELEBRITY
Metaverse Broadcasting Channel (MBC), pioneers of the virtual media movement have teamed with Phaylen Fairchild, creator of Second Life's first sitcom and AVENUE Magazine to create a brand new reality series to be filmed in the virtual world of Second Life™.

The six part series takes six contestants from around the globe and pits them against one another in various skill-based challenges. Each week, the contestants will meet with a Mentor, an expert in a specific field where they will learn and develop skills which they will later be judged upon.

This is the first Virtual Reality series not based upon public votes, but solely on skill development and enthusiasm for learning. At the end of each round, the winner will receive an exclusive award and one contestant will be eliminated from the competition. Skills that will be put to the test encompass most of those specific to Second Life including building, photography, performance, avatar customization, social engagement and collaboration. Along the way, they will be aided by some of Second Life's most accomplished professional’s intent on guiding them down the path to becoming a Virtual Superstar.

At the end of the six week competition, the winner will receive a development deal with MBC, an opportunity to star in their own show where their talent will be nurtured and their work celebrated. "There are so many vastly and diversely talented people out there," Fairchild said," ... And this is an opportunity to bridge the gap between the magnificent creatives out there, and the people with the ability to give them the exposure, recognition and assistance they deserve." Robustus Hax, Metaverse CEO added, "There are so many amazing people out there operating beneath the radar due to the sheer size of our world - this effort is not us saying that some people deserve a chance to be seen and heard more so than others, this is simply a fun format in which to acknowledge the efforts and foster the Second Life skills of our resident peers in a lighthearted, immersive and entertaining medium. Hopefully we manage to enrich the Second Life experience of everyone involved while we're at it. There are no real losers here."

I WANNA BE A CELEBRITY begins airing in the spring. The first rounds of auditions, which began on January 9th and will continue until February 10th, are being held at Metaverse City and are open to everyone of every shape, size, and culture. The show will be hosted by Second Life veteran and radio personality Trinity Serpentine.

METAVERSE BROADCASTING CHANNEL has been a pioneer of New Media in Second Life since 2007, and has created several highly rated series in the Second Life platform, including MBC News, Out & About with Dousa Dragonash and other shows currently in production. MBC was the official carrier of The Second Life political debate and live streaming of the Second Life Fifth Birthday opening speeches for Linden Lab.
PHAYLEN FAIRCHILD is the creator of DiVAS, Second Life's first sitcom which began its run in 2007 and is currently in its second season. The 2008 SLEAC Awards represents nearly a year’s worth of celebrating the best of Second Life’s entrepreneurs. The business men and women we chose to profile and nominate were suggested by SL residents and represent a select group of insiders that make a difference in the everyday lives of an active and vibrant SL community.”

As SLENTRE.COM News Editor and SLEAC Master of Ceremonies, Sigmund Leominster puts it: “In a year of writing for SLentrepreneur, I can honestly say that although the real world press often focuses on the trivial, salacious and more shocking elements of Second Life, the nominees we talk to have vision, strength of purpose and they add immense value to the whole SL experience.
