Famed industrialist Henry J. Kaiser once famously surmised: “if your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.” Such a simple phrase, with such a profound meaning: shut up and let your product speak for itself. No one designer better portrays this motto than Yula Finesmith. Finesmith has been creating the stunning jewelry pieces that many Second Life® residents have come to know and love since her first days on the grid. Join AVENUE as we take a moment to delve into the mind of superbly talented artist as she shares her passion for creating, and the inspirations behind her incredible line of jewelry

When the blog first started in May 2009, the posts on the blog were mainly about freebies, hunts and gifts sponsored by founder, Vitabela Dubrovna. Vitabela’s Blog was the perfect showcase for the first of Vita's “Boudoir” creations, and is still the official blog for Vita's Boudoir Couture Studio.

A new home for AVENUE

April 4th was a date to celebrate for everybody at AVENUE as it marked the day of the opening of AVENUE's new sim.  AVENUE is now located in a self named sim at GOL, the group of sims stemming from the visionary creativity of GOL founder, Dakota Neumann.

The sim was created and designed by Dakota in partnership with AVENUE's founder & CEO Rusch Raymaker, a perfect combination of fashion, lifestyle and entertainment.

The opening of the AVENUE sim is another milestone for this energetic company, and certainly Rusch Raymaker and her team won't fail to deliver once again what they promise, always with the utmost professionalism and far-sightedness.

AVENUE sim features the presence of several of the most celebrated fashion designers in SL - Baiastice, Chantkare, CheerNo, LeeZu!, Lelutka, LG Concept, Nicky Ree and Stylissimo all located in the central part of the sim called Couture AVENUE, set in an elegant, modern and yet tropical surrounding.  In a separate building is located AVENUE's main quarter with its stylish and modern offices, set perfectly in harmony with the rest of the sim.

The opening of AVENUE sim at Gol last night was inaugurated with a grand fashion show showcasing the biggest names of SL Couture, Baiastice, Chantkare, CheerNo, LeeZu, Lelutka, LG Concept, Nicky Ree and Stylissimo.  Over 70 people fought lag to attend this impressiVE show held at AVENUE's brand new runway.

The fashion show was then followed by a "wandering" party that was held first at AVENUE's The A Lounge then it was moved to the neighbouring Sim of Gol 5 where GOLden Shopping mall is located.

The party was kept fun and entertaining thanks to the tunes played by GOL's own DJ Captain Clipper and once again fashionistas, designers and many curious avatars had the chance to dance and socialize on a day that will be remembered for a long time.

Visit AVENUE at GOL if you haven't already to pick up the lovely exclusives from Couture AVENUE designers and join AVENUE Magazine Readers group for future exclusives and free gifts from these amazing couture designers.

Boudoir Secrets!

Boudoir Secrets!

In yet another stunning spectacle by AVENUE, the stage sizzled and jaws hung wide open as AVENUE models flaunted the titillating designs of Angel Dessous, Baiastice, Beauty Avatar Couture, Blacklace, DE Designs, Insolence, V Fashions, Stiletto Moody and Mika -ALL in one cabaret style extravaganza which left the Moulin Rouge looking shy by comparison..

Among the highlights- Below: Jesika is in her white Sydney ensemble by Angel Dessous; a teasing melange of innocence and eroticism, with skimpy bra and panties in frilled lace, matching garter and sheer white stockings. A bit of flamboyance is thrown into the mix with a MIKA Diamond Dancer feather fan and headpiece, along with Stiletto Moody Tie Me Ups in Red on Gold.

By contrast, Shenandoah means business in her Delice bleu by Baiastice: A sultry velvet ensemble in a striking shade of blue, with a strapless bustier, gartered panties and stockings, complimented by the MIKA Showgirl Special feather fans and a pair of Stiletto Moody Pinups.

Pyper is showing her subtle style in the Eva ensemble by Beauty Avatar; a black bra and panty ensemble in crocheted lace, with stylish seaming down the center of the see-through fabric to leave just enough for the imagination. Eva is worn perfectly with Beauty Avatar’s SHEVA skin and Moody’s Bare Greta in black.

Natasja is dangerously hot in her DE DE’votion in black and red by DE Designs- The strikingly bold red ’soutache’ (or ribbon lace) highlights the sheer fabric of the cami and the thongs, as well as the matte thigh-highs. Add to the mix- The black lace babydoll on top, with a pair of Stiletto Moody d’Orsay in Lipstick Red Patent, and the result is highly flammable!

Devine is absolutely divine in her Passionate Embrace by Blacklace: A gorgeous velvet ensemble in a vivid shade of yellow, rimmed by fine lace accents in amber and in black. It’s beautifully styled with sheer lace stockings (with the same embroidery motif) and a pair of Stilletto Moody’s (Pinup Pump) in Amber.

Shenandoah shines with a green hot glow in her Jamie ensemble in Emerald by Insolence. The silky softness of the satin fabric combined with the glossy finish in deep-green creates a mesmerizing effect. Add to that such naughty embellishments as the satin garter belt, the sheer black stockings, a pair of Moody’s tall Croc Boots, and a MIKA Diamond Dancer black feather fan with headpiece, for an unforgettable wow factor.

Poptart is equally irresistible in the Nadja in black by V-Fashion; a coy combination of demi cups and boyshorts in smoky black lace with silver accents, worn with a classic garter and sheer stockings. The finishing touches are added with a pair of Moody’s d’Orsay and a MIKA’s Carnival feather fan, and voila! She’s ready for prime time in her underwear:)

Boudoir Secrets was performed by AVENUE models: Aleida Rhode, Devine Hunt, Diva Lilliehook, Haruka Kish, Ivyana Szondi, Jesika Contepomi, Laurel Luminos, Liane Maertens, Livia Mastroianni, Natasja Schumann, Nezsy Herstein, Mavi Beck, Poptart Lilliehook, Pyper Dollinger, Shenandoah Saintlouis, Tralove Pinazzo, and Vixie Rayna.

Baiastice introduces new lines - "Secretly Lingerie Boutique" & "Donnarama Skins"

Introducing Baiastice's newest additions: "Secretly" and "Donnarama"

The creative force behind Baiastice, Sissy Pessoa, has introduced yet another facet to her thriving and dynamic design house. Two of SLife’s necessities, lingerie and skins, now have a new home at the Baiastice flagship store.

Secretly Lingerie Boutique

Secretly is Baiastice’s new Lingerie Boutique. Sissy reports she has ‘designed glamorous, sexy and even sporty lingerie for Valentine's Day and beyond, because you never know how or where your date will end’.

Secretly Lingerie Boutique

To negate those times where you are looking for that special gift for someone yet cannot transfer the items, Baiastice has created a gift card system which is just perfect for Valentine’s Day coming up.

Secretly Lingerie Boutique

As with all Sissy’s designs, color, texture and style fuse perfectly to create unique quality pieces.

Secretly Lingerie Boutique

Donnarama Skins

Baiastice’s Donnarama is a new ladies skin line. Released with 6 different skin tones ranging from precious Porcelain to delicious Dark, each of the tones comes with different eyebrow colors to suit every need. There are 20 different makeup choices available for each tone from glossy lips, to glitter eyes, artistic shadowing and Sissy’s beloved doll faces.

The tone’s are Porcelain, Pale, Peach, Sun, Tan and Dark (see below) selling for a very reasonable $750L per skin.

Donnarama skin tone range
Above - Donnarama skin tone range.

I have taken photos in the skins not having applied any post editing work apart from ‘soften’ to view them in their natural state. I am so impressed with the luminosity of the faces. Dewy and soft, Donnarama provides a diverse range of make up options for any occasion. The body shading is wonderful in my opinion particularly the areas of the clavicle, breast, stomach and spine.

Blue Dream, Cream Doll and Red Diva.

Pink Heart, Glitter Gold and Fuchsia Dream.
Above: Sun in Pink Heart, Glitter Gold & Fuchsia Dream.
Cherish Diva Night, Glitter Silver and Peach Heart.
Above: Dark in Cherish Diva Night, Glitter Silver & Peach Heart.

I am totally in love with Donnarama and just know they will be skins I will wear again and again. For occasions where you need fantasy in your reality, Sissy has created ten stunning Geisha skins. There is also a great selection of new shapes by ShapeUp and RR Shapes in the store. Baiastice has truly become the one-stop-shop of fashion fabulousness.

Donnarama Geisha Skin

And to reward her special Baiastice group members, Sissy will be sending them the beautiful Baiastice Donnarama Special Edition skin in Sun tone with black eyebrows.

Is there a better reason to become one of the Baiastice family? I think not.
